Snacks and munchies are the things that attract a lot of us to Super Bowl Parties. That and the commercials but let's face it, snacks are a big draw.

The guy on that cereal box is Patrick Mahomes. I'm a lukewarm fan of pro football, but even old GB knows who this kid is. He's the quarterback for the Kansas City Chiefs and bound for Super Bowl 55 On February 7.

Hy-Vee is a chain of about 250 employee-owned grocery stores in the Midwest. They are the official grocery sponsor of the Chiefs football team.

Recently, I walked into our local Hy-Vee store. The entire entry was filled from floor to ceiling with hundreds and hundreds of those red boxes. He is a phenomenon on the football field, and the display was awe-inspiring!

When I was sure the Chiefs would be in the Super Bowl, I thought it would be fun to come up with some snacks using Mahomes Magic Crunch. A portion of the sales from every box goes to Mahomes' charitable foundation that helps disadvantaged kids.

It's Time To Bury Your Head In The Trail Mix

When the game becomes a nail-biter, it sends a signal to your brain that says, "Hey you, eat something, you'll feel better!" This is the perfect time to grab one handful after another of this sweet and salty trail mix.

The fun shapes of crisp Mahomes Crunch, Whoppers malted milk balls, dry roasted peanuts, and salty pretzel rings give it that certain crack-like addictive quality we love. And who can deny pretzels, peanuts, and chocolate taste much better than fingernails!

"Mahomes Munch" is something you can throw together almost as the doorbell is ringing. Feel free to improvise and build your munch mix with your favorites. Just remember, sweet and salty is always a crowd pleaser!

Bring Home An Empty Pan When You Take This To The Party

Super Bowl Crunch Bars

I'll never forget planning a leadership retreat years ago. One of the attendees informed me I had really dropped the ball for not bringing more sweet snacks! I vowed never again!

Here's How To Make Mahomes Magic Crunch Bars Super Bowl Snack

melt marshmallow

Melt 40 large marshmallows with half a stick of butter.

nice and melty marshmallows

Keep stirring until the marshmallows are all melted.

add cranberries and peanuts

Stir in the cranberries and peanuts.

fold in the cereal

Fold in the cereal.

Patrick Mahomes' Crunch bars

Pat them in a greased pan, allow to cool, and cut into bars.

If you can resist tearing into the gooey goodness before it cools, you possess amazing strength and will power. Not me.

I can't think of anyone who doesn't like good old rice crispy bars. Mahomes Crunch cereal is a perfect substitute for plain rice cereal. But to jazz it up a bit, I added coarsely chopped dry roasted peanuts and dried cranberries to the mix.

Dry roasted peanuts add extra crunch and a little salt. And, the dried cranberries add Kansas City color and a touch of tartness to the sweet snack. Altogether, it sure keeps your taste buds entertained.
