This TikTok cinnamon roll hack made no sense to me at all when I first saw it. For example, who covers cinnamon rolls with foil while they're baking? Won't that make them sad and soggy?
I'm rarely, if ever, on TikTok, but our grandkids always work to keep me from getting sad and soggy myself, so they make sure I stay in the loop! This TikTok cinnamon roll hack with heavy cream has been around for over three years now. It keeps getting attention, and now I get it. If you're late to the party, like I was, don't miss out on this one!
There's a reason these are still going strong. Like Toll House chocolate chip cookies, I think this one will be around for a long, long time because it's simply a great recipe!

It is fast and easy to make these incredible cinnamon rolls! You only need a few basic ingredients; it takes about five minutes to get them in the pan. This now-famous recipe was designed to replicate the taste of Cinnabon's famous cinnamon rolls by emulating some of their methods.
You will save a ton of money making these TikTok Cinnamon Rolls instead of buying from Cinnabon. I am quite a thrifty gal, and I got a serious case of sticker shock when I priced a single Cinnabon roll. 😵 Thankfully, they do offer free smells when you visit one of their stores, and I enjoy that immensely!
I used a disposable pan because I was taking these to our grandson. If you make one tube of five Pillsbury Grands refrigerated cinnamon rolls, you'll need a nine-inch square pan, and if you use two tubes, a 13" by 9" pan. Of course, you'll need to double all of the other ingredients. You can use the kind with regular icing, too; it's up to you!
Begin by spraying the pan. Carefully remove the rolls and place them in the pan. Set aside the icing tub that comes with the rolls for now. I find separating the rolls easier when they're right out of the refrigerator. This time, I made a batch of five. I arranged the rolls like a five on a dice.

Pour one-half cup of whipping cream over the rolls. Don't worry; the rolls will not be soggy! Next, combine 1/4 cup of very soft butter, 1/4 cup of brown sugar, and one teaspoon of vanilla. Drizzle the mixture over the rolls as evenly as you can.
Now, here's the step that makes the magic happen: Cover the pan with foil and crimp it tightly to the edges. This makes the rolls steam as they bake, so they puff up soft and sweet and don't get a crusty top. Every bite of these amazing TikTok cinnamon rolls tastes like the soft middle of a regular cinnamon roll.

Bake the rolls for 30 minutes at 350°F in the oven. When they're baked, they will be tall and fluffy. They will need to cool slightly before being topped with the delicious icing that comes with the rolls.

Empty the small tub of icing that comes with the rolls into a bowl and add 1/2 cup of powdered sugar, 2 tablespoons of softened butter, and 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla. Stir well, and if it's a little thick, add a small amount of milk to thin it until you can drizzle it on top of the still-warm rolls.
Spread the icing on top evenly and set it aside for a little while (if you can wait!). My icing might look a little darker than yours because I used my favorite Mexican vanilla from Molina. For a pure white icing, use clear vanilla.

And that's it, folks! It's no surprise that this cinnamon roll recipe went viral on TikTok and remains as popular today as it was then. I'm sure going to miss having a grandson around to bake for when he graduates in 2027, but for the next year and a half, I'm going to enjoy it whenever he tells me, "These are really good, GB!"😍

These are so dang good!! I think I maybe adding a dash of cinnamon to the drizzle before baking would be a good tweak!
