Colorful Crunchy Fun Frooty Squares

Oh my goodness, what could be more fun than Froot Loops and marshmallows? I usually do my grocery orders online for two reasons: 1. speed and 2. less temptation, but recently, I had to pop into the store, and I stopped dead in my tracks in the cereal aisle when I saw a colorful box of Froot Loops but heart-shaped for Valentine's Day! 💖

My pupils turned into little cartoon-like hearts when I thought how much fun it would be to play with these for kids' treats! Then I remembered our grandkids range in age from 16 to 26, and they're not as tickled with silly stuff like that anymore! 😥 (Darn it, but I still am!)

Then I had a happy thought! Our daughter teaches a classroom full of twenty-three fifth-graders still young enough to think stuff like that is fun! Yay!

Why You'll Love These Fun Frooty Treats

Celebrating seasons and holidays is so much fun, especially when you have kids, grandkids, or you're a little silly and young at heart! A product like heart-shaped Froot Loops spends just a short time on the grocer's shelves, so grab some and play with them while you can!

We all grew up loving rice krispies treats, and I still do, but when you make them with heart-shaped Froot Loops and marshmallows, they become a colorful and tasty way to celebrate this fleeting holiday!

They are so easy to make with just three ingredients, and every kid loves sprinkles, so add some just for the fun of it!

Make Froot Loops and Marshmallows Into A Valentine's Treat

Melt marshmallows and butter in a microwave-safe bowl using 30-second increments and stirring between bursts. Do this until the mixture is smooth and free of lumps.

Pour in the Froot Loops, and stir until all the cereal is coated with the melty marshmallow mixture.

Next, pat the mixture into a greased 13" by 9" pan. While they're still warm, add sprinkles if you like—but remember, everything is more fun with sprinkles! Now, let them cool and set up.

I used a bench scraper to cut the Froot Loops and marshmallow treat into 24 pieces to send to our daughter's classroom. The bench scraper allowed me to cut straight down and pull up instead of dragging a knife through the pan, so the edges cut neatly and straight.

A bench scraper is a great tool with so many uses, you'll wonder how you ever lived without one!

Valentine's Day is a brief but wonderful holiday. It's a bright spot in one of the dullest months of the year, and I think it's fun to indulge in a sugary treat from time to time.

Our oldest daughter always ordered heart-shaped pizza and heart-shaped Dilly Bars from Dairy Queen every Valentine's Day when her kids were at home. Fun memories.

My friend Katie goes all out with amazing cutout Valentine's sugar cookies! Take a look at these beauties!!

If you want to try them, Katie has graciously shared her recipes and every trick she has learned so you can make fancy sugar cookies like these yourself! Here's the link!
